Sand & stripes

I used up the film in my Instax mini on our beach walk this morning, as well as taking my 'big' camera. They're good fun for a change, especially for scrapbooking... but I had forgotten quite how expensive the films are until I went to replace it. And when you only get half a film of usable photos it does make it kinda pricey per picture.

I never tire of photographing stripey beach huts, so many pretty colours. They remind me of paper sweetie bags.

Archie found a fork amongst the pebbles and I caught him actually eating mouthfuls of sand. You would think after the first forkful you would realise it doesn't actually taste all that nice! ... or maybe he thought it did!

  1. Your photos are great. What camera do you have? Your photos are so clear. I love the colours on beach huts too! When I was small we used to regularly go to the beach and take our neighbours son who would empty his sandwich of its contents and then put it butter face down on the sand and then put the sandwich back together and eat it! I can still hear the crunch noise the sand used to make as he munched away!

  3. Thanks June, that made me laugh so much! How funny of him. When we first bought our sand pit for the garden a couple of months ago I would catch archie with a mouthfuls of sand. That crunching noise makes me cringe!
I have a cannon EOS 1100d it's quite new as my old Sony a200 broke. Im quite happy to leave it on automatic though! I would love to take really close up pictures like yours. Do you have a macro lens?
I'm glad you got your parcel today and that you like it. x

  4. Beautiful photos ... I love days at the seaside like this with my little ones ... I think they enjoy it just as much as the blazing sunshine ... they are definitely less fractious :) Bee x

    1. Thanks Bee, yes they don't mind what the weathers like at the beach. And it's always nice to have the beach to ourselves! x

  12. I absolutely love this collection of photos Caroline. I love the colours and the candy stripes. The yellow of the boat looks fab against the moody sky. And fancy Archie eating the sand, and not just one mouthful but going on for another, that's funny :)
