Cone painting...

10 Nov 2012

We finally got around to painting some of the cones we have collected from various parks this Autumn. Elizabeth loved doing this, painting most of them and then passing on to me to finish them off. We initially tied the string on just for drying and had intended to make a little garland, however Elizabeth said she quite liked them like that so we opted for Christmas decorations instead.

    1. Thank you Col, we used some little tester pots of emulsion paint. They did close up a quite a bit when we painted them though - I guess because the paints quite wet. xx

  12. They are going to look so great at Christmas. I have dipped cones in wax before, they make great fire starters but if you put scented oil in the wax they smell great in a room x

  13. Oh these are just lovely! Love, love, love those chubby little fingers holding that pine cone ever so carefully. I can see some of these being made here for Christmas. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a lovely week.

  14. Caroline, these are brilliant! I'm glad Col asked what type of paint they were as that was going to be my first question. I have loads of tester pots in the garage, and I have just shown this to Bella and she is very keen to make some! I know what we will be doing after school this week... xx
