We finally got around to painting some of the cones we have collected from various parks this Autumn. Elizabeth loved doing this, painting most of them and then passing on to me to finish them off. We initially tied the string on just for drying and had intended to make a little garland, however Elizabeth said she quite liked them like that so we opted for Christmas decorations instead.
The colours are lovely! What kind of paint did you use? x
ReplyDeleteThank you Col, we used some little tester pots of emulsion paint. They did close up a quite a bit when we painted them though - I guess because the paints quite wet. xx
DeleteThese are so great Caroline ... I have a tray of pine cones which I may now have to paint ... you chose lovely colours ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Bee, yes we had a bag full waiting to do something with. I might do a few more before Christmas. xx

These are gorgeous!! I'm totally stealing this idea : ) x
ReplyDeleteWow, so pretty, they would look good sprinkled with frosty glitter too! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are going to look so great at Christmas. I have dipped cones in wax before, they make great fire starters but if you put scented oil in the wax they smell great in a room x
ReplyDeleteOh these are just lovely! Love, love, love those chubby little fingers holding that pine cone ever so carefully. I can see some of these being made here for Christmas. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a lovely week.

So pretty! Well done :)
ReplyDeleteCaroline, these are brilliant! I'm glad Col asked what type of paint they were as that was going to be my first question. I have loads of tester pots in the garage, and I have just shown this to Bella and she is very keen to make some! I know what we will be doing after school this week... xx
ReplyDeleteThey look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI've saved some for the girls to glitterize at Christmas.
