Some bits and pieces from around here the last few days:
▲ Our new chalkboard finally up in the hallway
▲ Archie on the 'ipatch'
▲ In the bedroom
▲ A new top for Elizabeth
▲ Albums on our new shelves
▲ Mini cakes
▲ Crafting
▲ More chalk drawings
▲ Pretty morning sky
▲ Dressing up and tools in Archie's room
▲ Archie's favourite book at the moment - to be read every night!
▲ A funny knitted meerkat bought from a local craft fair - it was just 50p and I felt a little sorry for it!
The kids have had lots of fun with the new chalkboard we put up, though it has inevitably caused much bickering too. Archie thinks it very amusing to draw ever so close to Elizabeth's masterpieces! Elizabeth has gone back to school today which she was so excited about and I'm just about feeling back to myself so things are pretty much back to normal around here. I'm going to our local scrapbooking crop tonight, I haven't been for months and I quite miss a little cutting and sticking every now and then! Its something I'm hoping to do a little more of again this year.
ipatch - how funny! Apple-speak is taking over the world. Swooning over your photos Caroline xo
ReplyDeleteHa, yes It's one of those words that stuck and we all call it an ipatch now! Thank you. xx
DeleteBeautiful photos! so much lovely colors and details and your children too of course : )
ReplyDeleteXX
Thank you xx
DeleteLove the chalk board would love one in our house but just sadly have no space...........what is scrapbooking crop?...sounds intriging.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why it's called a crop but it's basically a place where people meet up and work on their own scrapbooking projects. It's more of a get together rather than a workshop or class but we can use all the materials and stuff there. My sister comes too so it's nice to have a catch up. xx
DeleteLove Elizabeth's new top ... would love one in my size :) ... and we are major fans of Julia around these parts too ... I can recite The Snail and the Whale by heart ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteYes I thought I'd quite like one in my size too! Elizabeth has the snail and the whale and all the others but hasn't read them for ages - think I need to show them to Archie for a change. it's funny how they love to hear the same books over and over again. xx
DeleteGlad you received your little something ... thought you might find a use for them ... Bee xx
DeleteHello, happy new year, looks like you found some nice things for January! Heather x

ReplyDeleteThanks Jen, yes we used little mini cases - it made a a lot of cakes! xx
DeleteLovely snippets of your family life Caroline, am liking the Archie scribbles on the chalkboard! X
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes he's been loving a good scribble on there! xx
DeleteI love the handle to hold chalk - I may have to borrow that idea...if that's OK.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and here's to 2013 and more gorgeous photography.
Nina x
I think I saw something similar on pinteresst, they're just the right size for a few little bits of chalk to hand. Happy new year to you Nina. xx
DeleteThe chalkboard looks great! I'd love to do one in our house but I don't think our landlord would be so keen :-) x
ReplyDeleteThanks Col, we had a large piece of mdf cut and then painted it with blackboard paint and screwed it to the wall. I figured that we way we would just have a few holes to fill if we take it down! xx
DeleteAhhh, such beautiful pics : ) x
ReplyDeleteThank you xx
DeleteHappy New Year! Great photos as usual! That book was a favourite of KP's when she was younger too. She also used to like another Julia Donaldson book I think it was called "A Squash and a Squeeze." The chalkboard is fab!
ReplyDeleteJune
Thanks june, Happy new year to you too. Oh yes Elizabeth used to like that one too. xx
DeleteLovely! We've been reading monkey puzzle too lately! x
ReplyDeleteAbout to revamp an old desk with some chalk board paint myself, when I finally get round to it! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy new year by the way! x
The handles for chalk containers are genius! I REALLY like the meerkat :) xx
ReplyDeleteI'm with Nick on that, the chalk-holding handles are an inspired idea. I do love your photographic eye, your pictures are always so well-considered. On a slightly related note, I am sure you have probably had it before but I have nominated you for the Liebster award thing. The questions are over on my blog if you want to do it! x
ReplyDeleteChalkboards are brilliant but we're no strangers to those squabbles - we've often had to draw a line down the middle and tell the boys to stick to their side! Love your photos as always - just beautiful. Amazing sunrise too. xx
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern in your photos. The chalk board is a great idea. My two squabble over ours constantly, even though it's quite high up and they have to stand on chairs to reach it!
ReplyDeleteI love Elizabeth's new top - I would quite like one in a grown up size.
