This week Archie turned 4! I know it's a cliche, but he really does seem to be growing up so fast! He has become such a big boy lately.

After opening presents he spent the morning at nursery. I would have quite happily kept him home, but he didn't want to miss seeing his little friends. Once I'd picked him up, we headed straight to the beach for ice cream - a very melty ice cream!

It was a really lovely afternoon spent together, though I couldn't help feel a little sad too. Partly because he's growing up, but also knowing that it would be one of our last afternoons together before he starts big school. I'm so looking forward to the Summer holidays (3 days left for us!) and to having a little more time next year, but I'll really miss that time alone with my boy too.

This weekend we're going back to the Isle of Wight for a day. Archie wants to visit Dinosaur Isle, and then we're going fossil hunting. I may have purchased a few little fossils and gems for them to 'find' - I figured it wasn't very likely we'd actually find any!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! xx

  6. Happy Birthday Archie!! I know how you are feeling Caroline. I feel that Olly is growing up and growing away from me far too quickly. I intend to enjoy this summer. We have lots of lovely things planned. And I love that you have some fossils for them to find. I need to remember that when we visit Lyme Regis!

  7. Happy birthday to little Archie :) he's a real sweetie, I can understand how you'll miss him when he goes off to big school but it's wonderful to know he'll always need his mum around no matter what :) so sweet of you to take him to the sea side and get them the fossils to 'find', they are lucky :) enjoy your holidays together, safxxx

  9. You boy is adorable! And he looks so suntanned and healthy too, clearly you're having a great summer so far. I felt just like you this time last year. It was really hard to let Angus go. I still baby him far too much (I keep telling John that he better let me have number 3 for the sake of Angus's mental health!) But you're days will have a new rhythm in September and you still have 6 whole weeks to go. x
