Isle of Wight...
11 Jul 2014
Last weekend we had a little break on the Isle of Wight. The kids love it there, especially the crossing over on the car ferry! On Saturday we went to Blackgang Chine. I took Elizabeth there last summer and was looking forward to taking the boy too. He had the best time and just loved the cowboy town and dinosaur land.
On the Sunday we took a picnic along to Appley beach. The tide was out and the overcast weather meant we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves. The kids paddled in rock pools and collected treasures like sea glass and shells in the shingle. It so reminded me of when I was small. I grew up on the Island and this was the beach we always spent the most time on - as did my mum when she was little! It still remains my favourite beach now and I love getting to go back there occasionally!

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a really nice break for you all. I haven't been to the Isle of Wight for years, but we used to go with our girls when they were small..

It looks beautiful there Caroline. I love taking our little ones to places I visited as a child. I like that my children will have similar memories to my own. Feels like I'm giving them another part of me. Bee xx
