Its been a while since I shared any collected treasures... so I'm having a little catch up from the last few weeks. I'm hoping to get back into a routine of blogging now the kids are back at school, and will try to post our finds at the end of each month, as per usual.
The square dishes of sea glass hold pretty much all of the pieces I have found locally, from our nearby beaches over the years. It differs somewhat to the round and smooth pieces in the photo below, collected some time ago on the beaches at Seaham, Durham.
My plastic collection is also growing. I keep any interesting bits in jars at home, all organised by colour, of course. The Lego Lost at Sea pieces are my favourite thing to find, tiny blue and red flippers or scuba tanks that have been washed up after being lost at sea for over 18 years now. Oh and connecting snap beads, you know the ones that you can just pop together? I do love finding those too. If only these things could tell the story of where they come from, and just how far they'd travelled.
You can see more of my 'Collected Treasures' on Instagram under the hashtag #collected_treasures and my previous Collected Treasures posts here! x

ReplyDeleteAw thanks so much! I love finding pottery - blue especially. x
DeleteYour artistic eye is so inspirational - no-one else could make plastic curtain hooks and tile spacers look like art! Thank you for sharing. Nicky S (in West Dean, Chichester)
ReplyDeleteOh thank you very much, that's really kind. Hehe! x
DeleteWonderful as always! I love the poppy stems - I used to keep my poppies every year and ended up having a jar with 10 or so in and then one day I just thought 'why the hell am I keeping these?' and chucked them… kind of regret it now!
ReplyDeleteThank you Alexis. Aw you'll have to start a new one! xx
